A Little Dream Comes True...

hi, everyone!
well, before november gets away from us, i wanted to share
with you a little dream of mine that has come true...

we had the pleasure of having jennifer from the http://theoldpaintedcottage.com/pages/cotm.htm
select our home to be featured on her blog as the
 "cottage of the month."

jennifer has an amazing blog.  her before and after photos of her own home are incredible.   i'm sure you'll stare at her beautiful kitchen and mumble, "this is not the same kitchen!"   oh, but it is.  she and her sweet husband deserve an award just for buying the place. and i'm not being rude.  go look at the before photos!  they deserve an award for talent, creativity and vision.

so jennifer came out in the spring to shoot our home and said it would most likely run some time next year.  well, while i was hospitalized a few weeks ago and feeling cruddy, jennifer emailed me on halloween to say that our home would be featured this november.  what a little dream come true, as i have spent hours upon hours peering into other women's homes via jennifer's blog.

it was great fun to see our home through jennifer's eyes.  however, after seeing a few of her photos, i had some changes to make.  especially in the kitchen.  originally, our kitchen had several barn-red accessories.  well, remember that night around 3 am, when i took the red out and added black? well, i apparently missed a few things.  so if she could come back and re-shoot, i'd be much abliged!

so before november comes to a close, i wanted to share our home with you. as many of you may know, i recently had a recurrence and began treatment again this month.   what a nice distraction it was to receive emails from several of jennifer's followers.  yes, they commented on the house.  but more importantly, they shared that they are praying for me and my family.
how touching is this?

"The most important thing I want to tell you is, across the miles, (I live in "just a dot on the map" northern Indiana), you could say a total stranger, I AM PRAYING FOR YOU, faithfully, daily, added you to my prayer list. Your info. on your cottage of the month feature touched my heart, and I went to your blog. You are on my heart, it is a God thing, I know you will get that.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in Sept, 07, and after surgery and radiation treatments am still cancer free.  I so relate to your thoughts, feelings, and emotions right now.  If you ever want to talk, I am here."

from a complete and total stranger.
well, a stranger no more.

God can use anything, even the love of a home,
to unite hearts.

thanks, jennifer.
your blog is serving in more ways than one.
